Group of Companies «Silar» digital CCD cameras and specialized TV systems design and manufacturing |
SILAR Group of companies consists of the joint stock companies SILAR (established in March 1995) and STC SILAR (established in March 2005).
Since the moment of the company foundation, we design and manufacture digital CCD cameras for ultraviolet, visible and infrared imaging. In our cameras designs we use both CCDs manufactured by «Elar» and other CCDs.
Our designs include professional high-performance slow-scan digital CCD cameras, digital intensified CCD cameras for a round-the-clock operation, thermovision CCD cameras for infrared spectral range.
The product line of the group includes:
– High-performance slow-scan digital CCD cameras for ultraviolet, visible and medium infrared spectral ranges;
– Digital Intensified CCD cameras for a round-the-clock operation;
– Digital thermovision cameras based on CCD with Shottky bariers and based on microbolometers
for medium (3…5 µm) and long wave (8…14 µm) infrared spectral ranges;
– Manufacturing equipment for performance of the CCD and CCD cameras electro-optical parameters measurements, test and technological operations;
– Custom specialized TV systems;
– Interface devices between cameras and computers;
– Software.

Since the moment of the company foundation, two fields of the company activity were chosen as the priority ones. The first one is design and manufacturing of the high-performance slow-scan digital CCD cameras for UV, visible and near-IR imaging. The second one is the design and manufacturing of the thermovision CCD cameras for 3…5 µm spectral range.
As early as June 1997 the first
developed slow-scan 12-bit CCD camera has been purchased by the Nuclear Acids laboratory at the Curie Institute (Paris, France) for
the fluorescence microscopy of living cells (Biophysical Jornal, Oxford Jornals).
Further on, the family of 14-bit S1C CCD cameras series was developed.
Our latest development in this product category – 16-bit CCD camera S3C.

In May 1998 the development of Intensified CCD cameras has been launched – just new for our company class of devices – for wide faceplate illumination range from 1×10-4 to 103 lx.
Our 12-bit digital CCD cameras S2X, S3X and S4X are competitive with the best ICCD cameras.

For the imaging in the medium infrared spectral range we produce thermovision cameras with cooling of the detector CCD with PtSi Shottky barriers
with the help of refilled liquid nitrogen cryostats.
Besides this, the thermovision CCD cameras with the Sterling-type cryocoolers (Thales Criogenics, France) are currently under development.

Early 2008 the development of space- and energy-saving thermovision camera based on uncooled LWIR microbolometer has been launched. This camera is intended for the capturing images in the long wave infrared spectral range from 8 to 14 µm.
Due to high performance specification, camera may be used both self-contained product and embedded module.
Absence of electro-mechanical shutter and thermoelectric cooling of the microbolometer secures high reliability of the camera during maintenance.
